Shots fired at recreational vehicle

Deputy Fletcher with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reckless driver call on Highway 377 South. He performed a traffic stop on a vehicle, which matched the description of the reckless driver vehicle, for a defective headlamp and expired registration. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Luis Pena and Ferrell Martinez. Both were arrested after multiple articles of drug paraphernalia containing meth and marijuana residue was located. Two Tramadol pills were also found in the vehicle during the search.

In other incidents:

  • Fletcher responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle with an unconscious male occupant on Sportsman Drive. I identified the unconscious occupant as MASON CARPENTER. He was arrested for Possession Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a probable cause search.
  • A deputy was dispatched to the county jail in reference to an inmate on inmate assault. He spoke with the suspect and all witnesses who were present but was unable to speak with the victim at the time, due to his mouth and facial injuries.
  • Deputy Hopson, initiated a traffic stop on a 1996 Chevrolet LL at the intersection of N US 183/CR 592 for failure to display front license plate. He contacted the driver, identified as Armando Villarreal, who was subsequently arrested for Unlawful Carrying Weapons and Possession of Marijuana <2oz. He was transported to BCSO where he was booked in and released to jail staff.
  • Deputy Jose Rodriguez, observed a white Chevrolet Impala disregard the stop sign at the intersection of Harbor Dr. and Lakeshore Dr. While making contact with the driver, identified as Abbygail Elena Pineda, he smelled what he believed to be the odor of fresh marijuana coming from the person or inside the vehicle. He conducted a probable cause search and seized a total of 2.8 grams of marijuana from the vehicle. The driver was then arrested for Possession of Marijuana < 2 0z.
  • Deputy Marvin Simpson, responded to a welfare check on a female subject walking into oncoming traffic on US 183N. The subject was identified as Sabra Denise Webb, who was intoxicated. Webb was arrested for public intoxication.
  • Deputy Jose Rodriguez, was dispatched to Mountain View Ln. in regards to a theft of a motor vehicle. The victim advised the motorcycle had been stolen between the hours of 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. A report was made and the investigation is still ongoing.
  • Deputy Jayson Bastardo, was dispatched to Lakewood Dr in regards to criminal mischief. Upon arrival, he made contact with David Williams who stated an unknown person had shot his recreational vehicle with a shotgun. A report was taken.
