National Night Out (NNO), the annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie will be held during the evening on Tuesday, October 3rd. Each year, neighborhoods across Brown County host more than 40 neighborhood parties bringing law enforcement and community members together to visit, build relationships, and heighten crime prevention efforts. This year, the City of Brownwood is teaming up with the Brownwood Independent School District to host NNO parties at the City’s three new Splash Pads located at Allcorn Park, Mayes Park and Trigg Park.

Each year in Brown County, neighborhood party hosts and law enforcement collaborate with Good Samaritan Ministries for a “Canned Tuna Drive”. Everyone attending a neighborhood party is encouraged to bring donations of canned tuna that will be used by the Good Samaritan Ministries Food Pantry Program which provides assistance to families in need.

According to Leesa Stephens, Executive Director for Good Samaritan Ministries, “We are very excited to once again be part of National Night Out. As neighbors are getting better acquainted with each other and our local law enforcement officers through their block parties, they have a great opportunity to help friends and neighbors in need in Brown County.”
