Local drive scheduled to benefit flood victims

Former Brownwood High School Lions Seth and Kory Owen and Bangs High School Dragon Chance Beck along with the HPU Baseball Team will host a donation drive for Louisiana flood victims on Saturday, August 27th, partnering with local charities in the Baton Rouge and Southern Louisiana region.

Items that are in great demand after the flooding are as follows:

Cleaning Supplies (mops, brooms, paper towels, gloves, trash bags, sanitizers, bleach) Toiletries (hand soap, shampoo, razors, bar soap, shaving cream, toothbrush and paste, toilet paper) Baby Items (formula, wipes, diapers, sippy cups, bottles) Pet Items (pet food, leashes, treats, bedding, food bowls) Non-Perishable Foods (canned goods, water, sports drinks, dry beans, rice) Other Items (pillows, blankets, linens, batteries, toys, towels, school supplies) The drop off site for these donations will be at 1800 Center Ave in Brownwood (Former Higginbotham’s Hardware Store).  Donations will be accepted starting at 9:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m.
