Members of the Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Teams executed a narcotic search and arrest warrant in the 1700 block of Main Blvd Thursday morning. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing joint investigation conducted by the Police Department and Sheriff’s Office into the distribution of methamphetamine in Brown County.
Investigators seized approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine and 32 grams of high-quality marijuana along with evidence related to the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Amy Beth Bailey, 49, was arrested without incident by members of the joint SWAT teams. There was an eight-month-old child in the residence at the time of the warrant. Bailey was booked into the Brown County Jail and charged with:
1. Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Over 4 grams and Under 200 grams in a
Drug Free Zone – First Degree Felony
2. Endangering a Child – State Jail Felony
3. Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces in a Drug Free Zone – Class A
Misdemeanor
“This residence is known to law enforcement and has been a source of numerous neighborhood complaints regarding illegal activity and narcotics trafficking,” said Brownwood Chief Terry Nichols. “Working in cooperation with members of the community, we will continue to target and actively pursue those who engage in illegal activities and distribute narcotics into our community.”
Brown County Sheriff Vance Hill stated, “drug dealers do not recognize city or county boundaries. What we did today is another example for the citizens of Brown County to see the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department working actively together to address the illegal drug distribution in our community.”
