Deputy Jose Rodriguez initiated a traffic stop late Wednesday night at Beaver and Neumann after noticing a vehicle traveling without headlights. Dispatched informed Rodriguez that the driver, identified as Cody Lemmons had three outstanding warrants. After further investigation, Lemmons was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2 for THC Oil. Lemmons was also in possession of Alprazolam and marijuana. Due to the stop being conducted within 1,000 feet of Cecil Holman Park, charged were enhanced.
Brownwood Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Vincent regarding a disturbance. Officers made contact with a male subject matching the description. The subject gave a false name, but was later identified as Brandon Lee Lopez. Lopez attempted to run, but after a short foot chase, was captured. Lopez was charged with evading arrest or detention; failure to identify/fugitive intentionally gives false information, as well as multiple warrants.
A BPD officer conducted a traffic stop after noticing expired registration. The stop led to the arrest of Nathaniel Christian Halk, who was arrested for DWI. One of the occupants, having knowledge that he was a fugitive from justice, holding four outstanding warrants for his arrest, intentionally provided a fictitious name.
An officer was dispatched to 1st St. and Ave. J in reference to an accident. The officer discovered the accident had occurred around the 1800 block of 1st St. The driver which caused the accident, Nathan Gonzales, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated after showing signs of being impaired and admitting to being behind the wheel.
