Brownwood council suspends rate increase request filed by Oncor

Oncor Electric Delivery Company has filed an application with cities seeking a system-wide increase in its transmission and distribution rates in the amount of $317 million. This increase will increase revenues by Oncor by 7.5% and will increase rates as follows: 11.8% for residential rates and a 0.5% increase in street lighting rates. According to Oncor, annual rates would increase by approximately $6.68 for an average residential customer. The suspension of the rate increase request by Oncor will not cost the city any money as moneys incurred by the steering committee will be reimbursed in this rate case.
