The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers are pleased to announce the selection of the July 2017 BRMC Volunteer of the Month. During the August 2017 Meeting of the BRMC Volunteer’s Executive Board, BRMC Volunteer Joy Ivy was honored as the July 2017 BRMC Volunteer of the Month.

Joy Ivy joined the BRMC Volunteer Organization in October of 2004. She currently serves as the BRMC Volunteers Parliamentarian and the Chairperson of Information Desk Volunteer Service Area. Joy is a twice past President of the BRMC Volunteers having served in this officer’s position in 2007 – 2008 and again in 2016 – 2017. In the past, she has served as Chairperson of the Book Cart Volunteer Service Area 2006 – 2007 and the Information Desk Volunteer Service Area 2008 – 2012. Joy is an avid quilter, which has led her to be involved throughout her tenure as a BRMC Volunteer, in the BRMC Volunteer Program of generation and donation of baby gowns for newborns thru out the year and Christmas Stockings to newborns parents and patients during each Christmas Season. She is a special person, who always greets everyone with a smile no matter the situation or occasion. Joy is someone that you come away, after having met her, with the feeling that you have been blessed. She has accumulated over 7,830 hours of volunteer service at BRMC.

The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet area individuals who are interested in becoming a Volunteer and are actively soliciting new members. If you have an interest in serving others a minimum of 6 to 8 hours per month, BRMC Volunteering will meet your needs.
